The Mainlinephoto history

Hi there,

I'm Scott the second generation owner of Mainline Photographics.

Mainline was started long ago by my father John. We started out first as a chain of camera stores. Called Mainline Photosound.

We sold Cameras, TV's and video recorders. Think Rolleiflex and Betamax...

Those were the days....

Then we moved on to be a Camera Accessories importer doing products such as film developing equipment.

Then John who loved Leica products set up a store in the city and went on to become one of the most successful Leica dealers in Australia winning the prestigious Leica dealer of the year WORLDWIDE multiple times.

We have now become the home of Voigtlander, Novoflex & Heliopan filters in Australia.

One thing we have learnt in our many years of business ( over 40 now) is that giving great service is the most important thing you can give your customers.

My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic 126... as soon as I got my first photos back I was hooked... photography has been a part of my life ever since. ( BTW I still have it on display in our showroom)

I strongly adhere to the philosophy. If there are no ethics in business then there is no business.

Photographically yours Scott & Team
