Doggie Vanlife book
PRESS RELEASE:
Sydney Dog Adventurer Turns Real Life Bush Walks Into New Book With His Co-Author, Marley
In the quiet morning light of Ku-ring-gai bushland, you’ll often spot a sandy coloured Groodle named Marley trotting calmly at the side of his best buddy, Scott.
Together they’ve covered thousands of kilometres of walking tracks, crossing creeks, climbing cliffs, hills, and stopping often not just for rest, but for curiosity.
Now, those shared moments have made their way onto the page.
Scott, a wildlife biologist and dog adventure guide, has released a new book based on the pair’s experiences, it's a mix of true wildlife encounters, gentle dog wisdom and light-hearted mysteries inspired by real events on the trail.
“I’ve learnt more about patience from Marley than from anybody,” Scott laughs. “He reminds me to slow down, breathe, notice the birds, feel the ground.
Dogs are great teachers if we let them be.”
A Calm Adventure Approach.
Through Doggie Vanlife & The Gentle Dog Company, Scott guides dogs especially nervous and rescue dogs on calm outdoor experiences designed to build confidence rather than burn energy.
It’s nature-based therapy without calling it therapy.
“We don’t rush,” he explains. “We let dogs follow their noses, listen to the bush, let dogs think. A calm dog is a thinking dog.”
Those philosophies are threaded through the pages of his new book, alongside stories of goannas up trees, windy cemetery nights, and strange noises that only dogs seem to hear.
Not Just a Book .... A Growing Dog Detective World.
The stories also introduce The Three Investigators Marley, Polly & Max, a fictional detective trio based on dogs Scott walks regularly. Their mysteries from whispers behind crypt doors to clues hidden beneath old trees are playful, adventurous and distinctly Australian.
“It’s a bit Three Investigators meets bushwalking club,” Scott smiles.
